Appeal for help for an ailing journalist
Guwahati: A city based journalist suffering from cancer appeals for help from his colleagues. Kishore Kirat, who used to work for 'Purbanchal Prahari' and 'Dainik Purvoday' was diagnosed with gland cancer five year back and he still fighting with the disease.
Taking a break for few years, Kishore, who hails from a farmer's family of a remote village from central Assam, had almost recovered after prolonged treatment. Kishore, 40, even after facing a family tragedy, took the responsibility of the editor of a Nepali magazine from Guwahati six months ago.
But he was once again diagnosed with lung cancer (Malignant tumor of non small cell carcinoma) last month and now he is undergoing treatment at Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati.
He needs immediate treatment, but his blood count has reduced drastically and the attending doctors have advised him to take sufficient rest and also nutritious food so that he can withstand the after affect of the treatment.
Meanwhile, Kishore has resigned form his latest job due to his poor health. Kishore has the determination to fight the disease and he needs some financial supports from well wishers.
