Christmas spirit grips Karbi Anglong District of Assam,India

In a show of unity, Christians are coming together to celebrate Christmas in different parts of Karbi Anglong District of Assam, India. 

The celebration organised by United Christian Forum(UCF) an ecumenical body of 26 Churches at Diphu began on December, 1st with a vigil prayer for youth and volunteers at Diphu Baptist Church.The second day celebration was held at KASA Stadium ground Diphu where more than 12 thousand people gathered. Among the dignitaries the officials from the Karbi Anglong District Council and district administration was indeed remarkable.

The Third day's celebration was witnessed by more than 20 thousand people. Rt.Rev.John Moolachira the Bishop of Diphu, Hon.SP of Karbi Anglong and the Asst.District commissioner was also present during the celebration.

The celebration at Diphu was animated by Christ music Ministry team from Mumbai, a professional group of musicians and artists well known for their gospel songs and inspiring speeches.

At Hamren a large number of people participated in the annual Pre-Christmas celebration on 12th December.

At Dokmoka the celebration brought together various Christian churches with the message of Peace and Hope on 12th December.

The Dansiri Pre Christmas Celebration held on 12th brought together 14 churches together belonging to Dimasa, Karbi, Kuki, Nepali, Adivasi, Khasi, and Naga communities. The celebration ended by a delicious community meal for all the participants.

Festivity grips the district as the Christmas is round the corner. Only a few days are left for the festival but this time it will be a festival that could usher it into a new era of peace.
